#1 – Rain and Shooting Stars<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Starsky groaned. \u201cWill this rain ever<\/em> stop? Ain\u2019t nothin\u2019 gonna happen in this monsoon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Hutch huffed. \u201cWill you stop asking that inane question? How the hell am I supposed to know that.\u00a0 What do you think I am–a meteorologist?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat does knowing about shootin\u2019 stars have to do with the weather, huh?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA meteorologist studies weather and climate, you birdbrain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

There was a slight pause. \u201cOh. Then why name it after shootin\u2019 stars? Sounds kinda stupid to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, you would know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKnow what?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStupid, stupid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Starsky sneered at Hutch, hoping he could see it in the dark. Then, he said urgently, \u201cHey, I think Freaky Freddy just showed up. Let\u2019s go!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the next second, Hutch was out of the car and started to run toward Freddy\u2019s mom\u2019s house. He stopped short when he realized Starsky wasn\u2019t even out of the car. And he didn\u2019t see any sign of anything or anyone except rain. \u201cI\u2019m gonna kill him,\u201d he uttered through clenched teeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

He jogged back, his boots seeming to find every puddle so they could splash even more water on his already-soaked cords. When he pulled on the car\u2019s handle, the door didn\u2019t open.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStarsky! Open the damn door!\u201d he yelled above the pounding rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starsky leaned over and rolled down the window a few inches. He gave his partner an exaggerated look of innocence and said, \u201cSorry, buddy. I made a mistake. It was really a shadow.\u201d His smile asked for forgiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hutch brushed his wet bangs over the top of his head. \u201cFine. Anyone can make a mistake. Now\u2026 open the damn door! Right now! Or so help me, I\u2019m gonna be shootin\u2019 Starskys!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I guess that really would make you a meteorologist,\u201d Starsky said, a smirk on his lips and an arch to his eyebrow, as he unlocked the door. \u201cUh, don\u2019t get the seat wet, \u2018kay? Merle just detailed her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStarsky!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
