This is a old-school vhs vid made with two vcrs and a lot of patience. I definitely need to remaster it; it’s on the to-do list, which grows longer by the year. As far as I know, it was the first bilingual SH vid made. It has never been posted anywhere. I had help with the Spanish from two fans in Spain. I made the vid sometime in the early 2000’s (maybe 2004 or so, can’t remember). You’ll notice the icon in a lot of the clips from a California TV station. Stacy, a California vidder, sent me high quality vhs tapes of the episodes from that station, which played the eps in the middle of the night relatively uncut so I would have good source material for my vids. I was very grateful. At the time, it was the best we could get, and she sent me the tapes for free, including postage!

Oh, man! That was marvelous! The work that must have gone into that vid. It’s like a historical treasure. I especially loved the bouncing off the Torino’s hood bit. What a start to the day!
Enjoyed this “old school” vid. Having it produced from VCR tapes adds a layer of sentiment for me since this is how I watched SH the first time. Thanks for sharing it.

Brilliant, Flamingo!!! As someone intimately familiar with cutting, splicing and duping from one VCR to another in ‘the good old days,’ I stand in awe at your accomplishment here. I’ve never attempted anything with so many cuts (LOVED the sequences where you matched the footwork to the beat!). If you ever do get the time, we’d all love to see the re-mastered version. This is a masterpiece which slightly better quality could only enhance. THANK YOU for this rousing, wonderful gift. Also, please take bows, all you helpful elves; you rock!

A great way to wake up in the morning!
Now that was marvelous! I love well-edited action-y S&H vids – it’s so much fun to look at the boys just moving, and especially Starsky’s moves fit this Latin rhythm so well. What a huge amount of work this must’ve been! I like the video just as it is – the fuzzy VHS quality actually adds something very “real” to it, so don’t feel too bad if you never find the time to remaster this one! (I wouldn’t be surprised if “VHS style” became a trendy digital effect in the next few years, in a very cool & hipster kind of way.)
And a HUGE thank you for all your work in this fandom – I’m on a bit of a reading spree right now, and I hope I still have a couple of your Talk Dirty fics left to read tonight… Gosh, I love, love, love your work!
I bet this did take lots of patience to compile. It amazed me when you paired that adorable photo of Hutch looking over Starsky’s shoulder as Starsky looked at his watch to the lyrics that mentioned time. How fan videographers do these wonderful vids for us to enjoy just astonishes me. Thanks, Flamingo.
